Last month for my birthday, Matt bought me a beautiful, full-sized floor clock that he found on Craig's List. When I came home from a fun dinner outing at 5 & Diner with my girlfriends
(and Sergio and his little buddy Jace),
Matt had secretly set it up in the living room, and I arrived just in time to hear it chime midnight, its full repertoire of sound.
He also brought home a chocolate cake and some gorgeous red roses. My neighbor friend Andrea also had us over on my birthday for a play date. We ended up going to the park and had a great time of Red Rover and Red Light, Green Light.

Nicolas had the idea to bake a cake for me all by himself, so I stayed out of the kitchen and let him at it. It was beautiful AND tasty! What a sweet son.

And my cute William serenaded me with a birthday song on his guitar:
Thank you, Lord, for my precious family. Amen.

Mom thought it would be fun to help Sergio "walk" with McKenna's baby carriage (thanks, Aunt Donna!) that same night. His first steps, sort of! =O)
Also...

What's that? Goats in the desert? It seems there is a goat ranch on the adjacent property, separated by an electric fence (ack). The goats came rushing to gawk at us, and we enjoyed gawking at them. The kids did a great job not getting electrocuted, too!
(Sergio was here.)

Can you guess what kind of tree that is behind me?? I had no idea until Matt saw the pictures and told me. (It wasn't in a very nice way, however. Ha! Ask me later.)

I don't remember if in this picture the kids are looking at ant hills, stalking a butterfly, or catching "fluff" that was falling from the nearby cottonwood tree.
"McKenna-Cam" I love these kinds of pictures. =O)
We found a humongous roly poly on the grass in the picnic area. This particular insect met with a very unfortunate and mortal accident, however...
